Today, the Kaduna State Council for Arts and Culture under the Ministry for Youth, Sports and Culture kicked off its annual KADFEST (opening speech by director of Space 2000 – Ruth Sankey) with the Theme: Our Festival, Our Heritage.
The festival is a showcase of arts, drama and cultural dance displays from each Local Government Area of Kaduna and featured so many interesting displays from around the state.
Judges are also in attendance and the best performing local government will be selected in the team to represent the state at the national competition next year. One of the fan’s favorite performances today was from Birnin Gwari (wearing green and white) which highlighted the need for people to quit kidnapping
terrorism and violence and embrace peace and productivity and their performance was handled almost entirely by school children
who really entertained the crowd with their enthusiasm.
The event was kicked off today at the Kaduna International Trade Fair Center and you can still catch exciting performances and art displays from tomorrow until Saturday, 8th September. See more photos
