Nigeria International Footballer To Sponsor Grassroots Football Tournament In Kaduna

Today, 13th September 2018. The Leke James invitational tournament  unveiled the 2nd edition  of the tournament. The tournament is a brain child of Leke James, a Kaduna bred Nigerian professional footballer who plays for Molde FK Football club in Norway.

James Leke was unavoidably absent for reasons which are not far fetched but he sent his regards in a video.

The Leke James Invitational Football tournament was designed to promote grassroots football in Nigeria. The founder’s desire is to create opportunities for the young stars to find fulfillment playing football. The second edition is scheduled to kick off on 6-15th December 2018.

The two weeks tournament will feature 16 grassroots academies drawn from the nuke and crannies of Kaduna State. These teams will play for the ultimate prize of $560 and other mouth watering prizes. All matches will be played in Ranches Bees stadium ( Kaduna Central Township Stadium) under the watch of football administrator, supporters and fans.

This edition promises to be exciting with major support coming from the state government under the visionary leadership of Mallam Nasir Elrufai the Governor of Kaduna.

  1. This is good news indeed. An opportunity worthy of emulation by established soccer players in Nigeria. Big ups to Leke James and his team.
