Gentlemen of the press, this is to announce to the general Public that George Makeri has formally resigned his place as the leader of NETZIT Patriotic Front. Meanwhile, an interim NENZIT Leadership to be headed by Steven Kefason, has been set-up with the following terms of reference:
1. Conduct an election
a) set up an electoral committee of mature and responsible Netzites from the general house who will, draw up modalities for an election and make it available to the general house within a specified period.
b) let the committee so set, determine the date of an election and possible inauguration where necessary.
c) the committee would be saddled with other allied matters whenever the need be as deem necessary by the Kefason-led Interim Netzit Leadership.
Kefason, is to be ably assisted by all old executive members.
An extract from the parting words of the outgoing leader George Makeri runs thus:
“At this stage, I want to say I bear no grudge against anyone and keep no malice. In the course of serving you, I must have hurt some of you – it is a universal phenomenon. I hope you understand and bear with me – no hard feelings, only love for everybody. Believe me, this is from my heart. Thank you for the privilege to serve.”
In his acceptance speech, Steven Kefason pledged to uphold the legacy of the outgoing leader George Makeri. In Kefason’s words:
“I want to appreciate George Makeri for his selfless service to NETZIT over the years, he has paid his dues even at the expense of his person and comfort. I pray that God in his mercy and grace will see you through in your future endeavors. Your wisdom and advise will always be appreciated as we fight for the total emancipation of the NETZIT nation.
I also want to thank you for the rare privilege given to me to lead the interim Leadership, I and the rest of the team shall put in our best to ensure that NETZIT gets better and stronger under our stewardship.
