The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Sokoto zonal office, has recovered over N200 million in four months. The Zonal Head of the Commission, Abdullahi Lawal, revealed this in an interview with our correspondent yesterday.
He also said that the commission had in the last three weeks secured three convictions.
Lawal explained that the recovery was made between July and November.
The commission had directed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Sokoto and Zamfara states to pay the ad hoc staff who were short-changed during the last general elections. “We were petitioned by some of the ad hoc staff and during our investigation, we discovered that they were truly short-changed.
